We Fought and We Won!

The Dublin Teachers Association is excited to announce that March 12 at 10:30 PM after over 12 hours of bargaining, we finally reached a Tentative Agreement with DUSD Management. From the bottom of our hearts, we can’t thank you enough for the love and support the community has shown Dublin teachers since we started negotiations seven months ago. Supporting and nurturing young people and fighting for the resources they need to succeed are the reasons we chose to become educators. We are proud to announce that we have reached a Tentative Agreement that includes guaranteed elementary counselors, smaller class sizes and caseloads, improved healthcare and a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) increase. Seeing you stand with us and lift our voices together for our students helped the district finally understand what we’ve been saying all along, DUSD must invest in our students. We are so excited to be back in our classrooms Monday, March 16. Unfortunately, DUSD Board of Trustees and Management refused to agree with our proposal to make Friday a workday for teachers to clean and prepare classrooms, collaborate with colleagues and transition back into the classroom safely. This fight would not have been possible without community support. We showed that our strength and unity are unstoppable, and so much stronger than five board members, who made it absolutely clear where they stand on issues that impact our students and classrooms. Our students are the center of everything we do, and they deserve to get the individualized support they need to thrive. We are so excited to go back to our classrooms and see our students again!
